LONDON, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Britain's National Literacy Trust said a study suggests people with higher reading skills are more likely to be happier and be in lasting relationships.
The study suggests 22 percent of men with poor literacy still live with their parents, compared to 9 percent of those with higher reading skills, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.
The trust also said that by the age of 34, 68 percent of men and 70 percent of women with good reading skills are married or living with romantic partners, while 52 percent of men and 60 percent of women with poor literacy claimed the same living arrangements.
Additionally, the study indicates 78 percent of people with good reading skills said they are "satisfied with their lives," compared to only half of those who struggle with reading.
