WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., says he will pay several thousand dollars in federal taxes owed on rental income from a Dominican Republic beach house.
At a Washington news conference Wednesday, Rangel blamed "cultural and language barriers" for a financial misunderstanding. He failed to report $75,000 in rental income from the villa, The New York Times reported Thursday.
