MIDWEST CITY, Okla., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Authorities have uncovered a student's alleged plot to kill fellow students and teachers at a Midwest City, Okla., high school, officials said.
The Midwest City High School student was taken from the school to the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was arrested for allegedly conspiring to perform an act of violence involving serious bodily harm or death, KWTV of Oklahoma City reported.
"He was planning a threat to the school, and had plans, and also was sending some information through his MySpace account that associated him with hate groups," Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes said.
The 15-year-old student allegedly had access to weapons in his home, the station reported.
"We always do what we believe is in the best interest of our students," Stacey Boyers of Mid-Del School District said. "Once we were made aware of the situation, we acted very quickly to address the incident."
Police say they are continuing to investigate the alleged plot.
