Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meets Bolivian President Evo Morales in Tehran

BERLIN, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- The former Israeli Mossad agent who kidnapped Nazi Adolf Eichmann in Argentina hinted the same fate may await Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Rafi Eitan, 81, Israel's minister for pensioners' affairs, told the German magazine Der Spiegel in an interview published Tuesday said it's possible Ahmadinejad, like Eichmann in 1960, could suddenly be abducted by Mossad agents.

"It could very well be that a leader such as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad suddenly finds himself before the International Criminal Court in The Hague," Eitan said.

Asked by the magazine if he was serious, he responded, "Absolutely. Those who spread poison and want to eradicate another people has to expect such consequences."

In the interview, Eitan also said when Mossad agents when to Argentina to arrest Eichmann, they also could have found Josef Mengele, the Nazi concentration camp doctor known as the Angel of Death. The agents were tipped he, too, was in Argentina, but Eitan said the team was too shorthanded for the task.
