WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Critics are hammering Republican U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin for supporting the so-called Bridge to Nowhere before she opposed it, an ad says.
Adopting a line from the 2004 presidential race between President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama takes aim at the Alaska governor's early support for the controversial project, Politico reported Monday.
Using Kerry's gaffe regarding U.S. troop funding, "I actually voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it," Obama says in a new ad that Palin was "for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it."
Palin, who had indicated support for the project, turned course amid criticism that the bridge was a wasteful pork barrel project.
