Sgt. Frank Skubic, a homicide detective, asked anyone who responded to the ad to come forward, the Toronto Sun reported.

The woman's boyfriend discovered her body Tuesday. She was lying on the floor with her hands tied behind her back, stabbed several times.

The 31-year-old was a recent graduate of the University of Guelph. Police had not released her name Friday because they had been unable to reach her parents, who live in a village in China.

Skubic said investigators have few leads.

"I'd really hate to think that there is some psychopath running around out there, but we have not yet been able to discount that theory either," he said.
