Fiery meteorite wows Western Canada
Two fellow inmates claimed they heard Richard Troy Gillmore say he would cut the throat of Tiffany Edens. After the parole board granted Gillmore release last year, Edens went to court and succeeded in keeping him behind bars.
The Marion County District Attorney's Office said a verbal threat does not violate Oregon's harassment law, The Portland Oregonian reported.
Gillmore was convicted of raping nine women in Portland in the 1970s and 1980s. He targeted joggers.
The inmates said Gillmore did not mention Edens by name but talked about a woman interfering with his parole and used a derogatory term for her.
The prison is still investigating the alleged threat and Gillmore could be disciplined.
