Inmate gets $300,000 for lost genitals
Moshe Ivri-Sukenik said Israel's army has "rusted" and some soldiers in training lack tools as simple as maps of the Golan Heights, Haaretz reported Friday.
Ivri-Sukenik resigned earlier this year as commander of the Israel Defense Forces' Northern Corps, in part to protest what he says are insufficient funds for training land forces, Haaretz said.
Ivri-Sukenik led the Israel army's internal investigation of mistakes made during the war with Lebanon in the summer of 2006. Since then, major efforts have been made to restore the readiness of ground forces but it is not nearly enough, he said Thursday.
