Inmate gets $300,000 for lost genitals
More than 37.2 million people watched coverage of the Republican National Convention Wednesday, The Hill reported. By comparison, 1.1 million more people tuned in to the Democratic National Convention when Obama gave his acceptance speech in Denver, the Nielsen ratings service said.
Palin, the governor of Alaska, had far more viewers than U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., or Obama's running mate Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.
The Hill reported that SurveyUSA polled 1,200 voters Wednesday before Palin's speech and then again afterward Thursday. Fifty-five percent of respondents called her an asset to the ticket after the speech, compared to 49 percent before.
The poll's margin of error was not reported.
