JOLIET, Ill., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- An Illinois writer, in the first released book about former police Sgt. Drew Peterson, details mysteries surrounding the deaths of two of his four wives.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Joliet journalist Joseph Hosey's "Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson," the first book examining the deaths of Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson, was placed in circulation Monday.

"Fatal Vows" describes how the former police officer from Bollingbrook, Ill., was a lead suspect after Stacy Peterson, his fourth wife, vanished in October 2007.

The literary work also describes the media blitz that ensued after the disappearance of the 23-year-old and reports of the couple's allegedly tumultuous marriage.

The Sun-Times said Hosey also discusses the fruitless search for the missing woman and the resulting exhumation of Savio's body by suspicious authorities.

Savio, who was Peterson's third wife, was later found to have been the victim of a homicide in the couple's home. Peterson has denied any involvement in the deaths of either woman.
