Six killed in Colorado crash

HUDSON, Colo., Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Six people died in a traffic collision in Hudson, Colo., Sunday afternoon, the Colorado State Patrol said.

Investigators said the victims were riding in a minivan on a rural road when the driver, identified as Adriana Ronquillo, 26, went past a family member's residence and then pulled to the right side of the roadway before attempting to make a U-turn. The minivan was hit broadside by a semi truck, police said.

In addition to Ronquillo, the collision took the lives of Jose Bencomo, 33, Letsly Bencomo, 6, Eddie Bencomo, 4, and Yurem Jesus Bencomo, 9 months, all of Thornton, Colo., and Jamie Arais, 28, of Arizona.

The driver of the truck, Brian Wheeler, 53, of Firestone, Colo., was taken to a hospital for treatment of what police described as minor injuries.
