DENVER, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Democratic U.S. presidential nominee Barack Obama and running mate Joe Biden embarked Friday on a bus tour of three key battleground states.

Sens. Obama, D-Ill., and Biden, D-Del., scheduled stops through the weekend in working-class territory of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan that failed to support Obama in the primary, reported USA Today.

Friday's stops were to include a rally in the western Pennsylvania county of Beaver, where Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., bested Obama 70 percent to 30 percent in the state primary.

Saturday, Obama and Biden are to hold a rally in Dublin, Ohio, after attending funeral services in Cleveland for Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, who died Aug. 20 from a brain hemorrhage.

Sunday, Obama and Biden plan on being in Toledo, Ohio, and Battle Creek, Mich., before splitting up to campaign separately on Labor Day.
