Worthy called some of the media reports about the plea negotiations negotiations "erroneous," The Detroit News reported.
"It is the policy of the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office not to comment on matters related to negotiations in the Kilpatrick case or any other case," Worthy said in a statement.
"Reports regarding negotiations in print and broadcast media are not coming from my office. There are other sources who, for some unknown reason, wish to give erroneous information to the press. We caution the public to remember this."
In March, Worthy charged Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty, his former chief of staff, with conspiracy, obstruction of justice, perjury and official misconduct in a case related to a police whistle-blower trial in 2007.
The embattled mayor is also facing assault charges brought by Attorney General Mike Cox over an altercation in July, when two police officers were attempting to serve a subpoena at the home of Kilpatrick's sister.
