In a discussion Thursday with Michel Sleiman, the president of Lebanon, Abbas said he opposes giving the Palestinians permanent resettlement in Lebanon, WAFA reported. Abbas said the issue of return is one he hopes to discuss with Israel.

"I told the president if we want to reach a solution with Israel, it should be a comprehensive one," Abbas told reporters at a news conference later.

Abbas said he supports Lebanon's call in 2006 to disarm all Palestinians living outside refugee camps.
