NETANYA, Israel, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Israeli police say that divers were unable to find the body of a 4-year-old girl in a river where her grandfather says he threw her.

The search for Rose Pizem, who has been missing for three months, will continue in the Netanya area with the aid of volunteers and dog teams, The Jerusalem Post reported Wednesday.

Her paternal grandfather, Ronnie Rose, recently confessed to killing the child by accident. He told police that he panicked, then stuffed her into a suitcase and threw her into the Yarkon River.

Israeli Public Security Minister Avi Dichter said searching for the child would continue.

"This is a horrifying story and it is shocking enough to invest every effort possible to find the girl," said Dichter.
