CHICAGO, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- A group of Sen. Hillary Clinton's Illinois supporters have agreed to hold a fundraiser for her former opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, her campaign said.

The fundraiser for Obama is slated for mid-September, and will feature Clinton herself, Crain's Business of Chicago reported Tuesday.

J.B. Pritzker, co-chairman of Clinton's national campaign, said the event is to help foster party unity, which some have said was fractured during the Democratic primary between Clinton and Obama.

Clinton, who will speak Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, is widely expected to call on her supports to wholeheartedly back Obama.
