ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Police say three people died and at least 20 others were wounded Tuesday when a bomb exploded at a rally in Jaffarabad in southwestern Pakistan.

The rally was being held to commemorate the death of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, the former governor of the province of Balochistan who died in a 2006 military raid, CNN reported.

Bugti disagreed with the Pakistani government on the distribution of natural gas revenues taken from the country's tribal territories. Balochistan, located near the Afghan border, is rich in natural gas.
