MOSUL, Iraq, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Eleven suspected terrorists have been taken into custody by coalition troops in Iraq, including four allegedly planning to use poison, officials said Monday.
The four men suspected of planning poison attacks were captured Sunday in Beiji, south of Mosul, American Forces Press Service said. The report provided no details about the type of poison or method of attack involved.
Coalition forces targeting al-Qaida in Iraq also detained a suspect in Sharqat, south of Mosul, wanted for transporting weapons and explosives.
Six other suspects were caught in Baghdad and surrounding vicinity.
Late last week, coalition troops rounded up several more suspects, along with sizable caches of weapons, explosives and other equipment, the press service said. The ordnance included rifles, ammunition, land mines, mortars, rockets, artillery rounds, rocket-propelled grenades, propane tanks and body armor.
