Woman completes U.S. walk for troops

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A Florida woman says her cross country walk found support for U.S. troops nationwide.

Keela Carr, 35, spent 2 1/2 months on her 2,700 mile walk from California to the Arlington National Cemetery in her "Journey of a Thousand Thanks," the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday.

"The one thing that I really found to ring true across the country is that we civilians love our troops, and we all are so appreciative," said Carr, who briefly met with President Bush at the end of her trek. "Sometimes it doesn't come out in the same way as my appreciation, because there's frustration, hurt and families affected by what happens to our military. But overall, we as a nation stand behind our fighting men and women."
