Bear who mauled man shot

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- A grizzly bear that mauled an Alaska man is believed to have been shot and killed, Alaska Department of Fish and Game officials say.

Agency spokesman Bruce Bartly said the bear that mauled Clivia Feliz in Far North Bicentennial Park this month was shot over the carcass of a trophy bull Tuesday morning, The Anchorage Daily News reported Wednesday.

Authorities were able to identify the bear by her cubs, one of which has a white collar of fur, the newspaper reported.

The Daily News reported that officials want to capture the cubs and take them to a zoo.
