TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- One of the top United Nations nuclear watchdogs has arrived in Iran to follow up on talks about the country's uranium enrichment program.

Olli Heinonen, a senior official of the International Atomic Energy Agency, hopes to continue what he termed "constructive" conversations with Iranian officials earlier in August. IAEA Director General Mohamed El-Baradei is to present a report on Iran's nuclear program activities, as well as its cooperation with IAEA's Board of Governors, in September, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA Monday.

The United States and other world powers have been pressing Iran to halt its uranium enrichment efforts, fearing it intends to develop nuclear arms. Tehran maintains its program is designed solely for peaceful purposes.
