Governor says no pardon for mayor

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said Thursday she would not pardon or grant immunity to Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick in return for his testimony.

Referring to a Sept, 3 hearing on the mayor's possible removal from office in the text message scandal, the governor said she planned no pardon or immunity for anyone testifying in that session, the Detroit Free Press said.
