4 die in 2 Baghdad bombings

BAGHDAD, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Four people were killed in Iraq Thursday in two violent attacks that injured at least eight others, the U.S. military said.

Two Iraqis were killed and other five injured when a bomb exploded in the crowded Tahareyat square of the Karada neighborhood district in Baghdad, KUNA, Kuwait News Agency, reported.

Two Iraqi police officers were killed and three others were wounded in a bomb explosion in the Salman Bak district of southern Baghdad.

Officials said the bomb went off as an Iraqi police patrol was passing by.
