Attorney Stephen Hrones Tuesday confirmed the announcement by Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives that Rockefeller was the same person who rented a guesthouse near Pasadena from John and Linda Sohus using the name Christopher Chichester.
The San Marino couple vanished in 1985 and cold-case detectives consider him a person of interest in the resurrected case; however Hrones told the Boston Herald that his client wasn't close to the Sohuses and does not know what happened to them.
Chichester surfaced last month when he allegedly kidnapped his 7-year-old daughter in Boston and led authorities on a brief but high profile manhunt. Subsequent investigation revealed that his true identity was not Clark Rockefeller but rather a German national who has used a series of aliases while living the high life in the United States.
