DENVER, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The Democratic National Committee Monday unveiled a schedule for the four-day convention in Denver, with each night being built around a different theme.
"From Monday through Thursday, our convention program will highlight the people of this country who want positive change and who believe Barack Obama is the leader who will listen to their concerns and get our country moving in the right direction again," said Kathleen Sebelius, Kansas governor and convention co-chairwoman.
The first night, Monday, Aug. 25, will feature a theme of "one nation" and will be highlighted by a prime-time speech from Michelle Obama, wife of the likely nominee. Tuesday night will feature former presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., as the keynote speaker, with the theme, "renewing America's promise."
On Wednesday, Barack Obama's yet-to-be-named vice presidential running mate will take center stage at the Pepsi Center to expound on the theme of "securing America's future."
And on Thursday, Aug. 28, Obama will deliver his acceptance speech outdoors at Mile High stadium, concentrating on his campaign-long theme, "change you can believe in."
