EDWARDSVILLE, Ill., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Illinois prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for Kevin Reid, a Madison County man accused of three slayings in 2005.
Reid faces trial in the killings of Anquiaette Parker, 19, of East St. Louis, her unborn child and her 4-year-old cousin, Cermen Toney Jr. Parker was seven months pregnant when she was killed.
Authorities found the victims' remains in March in an old cistern at a home in State Park Place where Reid once lived. Reid, 42, is being held without bond in the Madison County Jail in Edwardsville.
Reid's trial was tentatively scheduled for Sept. 8, but States Attorney William Mudge said the case likely will not go to trial until sometime next year.
