NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Seven members of a Christian motorcycle gang were in custody on attempted murder charges in a bloody barroom brawl in Southern California, police said.
Three members of the rival Hells Angels Motorcycle Club also were arrested in the Newport Beach brawl that left three people injured late last month.
More than 150 SWAT officers served search and arrest warrants on members of the Christian gang, Set Free Soldiers, and the rival Hells Angels, police said.
The Christian biker gang allegedly masquerades as a church, Anaheim police Sgt. Tim Schmidt told the Orange County (Calif.) Register.
Each of the seven arrested Set Free Soldiers members was held on $1 million bail. The three Hells Angels were taken into custody for investigation of assault and drug possession.
The stabbing melee occurred July 27 at Blackie's by the Sea, a pub near the Newport Beach pier, Newport Beach police Sgt. Evan Sailor said.
