GAINESVILLE, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- The University of Florida, recently designated the top "party school" in the United States, plans to ban kegs and beer balls from campus.

The university released a proposed update of its student conduct code on Monday, the Gainesville Sun reported. Patricia Telles-Irvin, vice president for student affairs, said the code covers student behavior on campus and in fraternity and sorority houses.

The code would ban "open source" containers of beer and alcohol like kegs. Drinking games would also be barred.

Students would only face sanctions for off-campus behavior if it results in injury or property damage, Telles-Irvin said.

"If you have a keg and have your friends over, I don't think they're going to bust you and send you to judicial," said Kevin Reilly, president of the Student Government Association.

Princeton Review listed the university as its No. 1 party school last week. But Telles-Irvin said the new code, which must be approved by the trustees before it takes effect, has been in the works since 2006.
