Inmate claims to have info on missing baby

TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A Florida inmate alleges he has information regarding the 1997 disappearance of 5-month-old Sabrina Aisenberg and will trade it for a sentence reduction.

Dennis Byron, who is currently serving a nearly 70-month prison sentence for violating house arrest, may now have that sentence halved in exchange for providing information about the missing child, The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune said Wednesday.

Aisenberg was taken from her parents' home in Valrico, Fla., and was never found.

State officials are not opposing the proposed deal with Byron, who was given a house arrest sentence after wearing a wire to incriminate cellmate Scott D. Overbeck last December.

Byron has alleged to Barry Cohen, the attorney for Aisenberg's parents, that Overbeck admitted to killing the child and hacking apart her body.

The Tribune said Overbeck has denied the allegations, saying he was not involved in the young child's kidnapping or alleged death.
