Woman: Rampage run-in ended in miscarriage

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A California woman suffered a miscarriage as the result of a car crash with champion martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, attorneys say.

California Highway Patrol officials say Holli Griggs of Huntington Beach, Calif., was driving in Newport Beach, Calif., last month when a car driven by Jackson clipped her, crumpling her driver's side door and a rear corner of the vehicle.

The Orange County Register reported Tuesday that Griggs' attorney says the 38-year-old woman, who was 16 weeks pregnant, miscarried as a result of the accident.

Jackson, until recently an Ultimate Fighting Championship titleholder, declined to comment, the Register said. Jackson, 30, of Irvine, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run driving, felony evading and reckless driving but has not yet been charged, the newspaper said.

Police say Jackson went on a tear through Newport Beach July 15, allegedly hitting three motorists and causing pedestrians to flee when plowing onto the sidewalk.
