PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Manitoba, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A Canadian prosecutor outlined grisly details of the beheading on a Greyhound bus during a hearing Tuesday for the suspect.

Vincent Li, 40, remained silent for most of the proceedings in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, shaking or nodding his head to answer questions, The Winnipeg Free Press reported. At one point, he muttered "Kill me now."

Joyce Dalmyn, the crown attorney, asked the court to order a psychiatric evaluation, saying that the attack seems to have been random with no known connection between Li and his alleged victim, Tim McLean, 22.

Dalmyn went through the details of the killing. She said police officers who surrounded the bus after the driver got the passengers off observed Li cutting off parts of McLean's body and eating some of them.

"He appeared to be focused on his victim," she said.."He did not appear to be drunk or high," said Dalmyn.

The attack occurred last week on board a bus traveling west in Manitoba. Li was arrested after he broke a window on the bus and jumped through it.

A Winnipeg psychologist has been assigned to evaluate Li and report back in 30 days.
