BALTIMORE, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Kidnapping suspect Clark Rockefeller said Monday he was prepared to return to Boston to face charges of taking his daughter without legal custody.
The Massachusetts resident was arrested in Baltimore Saturday following an international manhunt for him and his 7-year-old daughter and would have to waive extradition to be sent back to Boston, The Boston Globe said.
Baltimore resident John Day said he sold an area home worth nearly $450,000 to Rockefeller and the fugitive indicated his daughter would be living with him.
"I met him like a month and a half ago, when we were doing a walk-through in the house, and it's funny, he mentioned that he was bringing his daughter here to live. So I guess he thought he was not going to get caught," he told the Globe.
The newspaper said Rockefeller, 48, lost custody of his daughter in a divorce last December and was operating under aliases while in Baltimore.
