Lab results needed in missing child case

ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Florida authorities said they hope to learn this week whether a stain and hair samples from her mother's car are linked to missing 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, was jailed on child abuse charges after she waited nearly a month to report her daughter missing, says WFTV in Orlando.

Investigators took hair and stain samples from the trunk of Casey Anthony's car after Caylee's grandmother reported a bad smell in the vehicle.

On Sunday, Casey's father George Anthony visited his daughter in the Orange County Jail and told WFTV that Casey gave her attorney a letter that might contain clues about Caylee's disappearance.

However, the attorney said no such letter exists.

Sheriff's investigators took more evidence Friday from the Anthony home.

Authorities won't say if detectives are close to finding out what happened to Caylee but one source told WFTV that more hard evidence is needed.
