SYDNEY, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Australian aviation officials say they're keeping a close eye on Qantas Airlines after a flight was forced to return to Sydney with a hydraulics leak.
The Qantas jet bound for Manila turned around and came back to Sydney airport Saturday, landing safely with 200 passengers aboard, Radio Australia reported. The forced landing was the third incident of in-flight trouble involving Qantas in recent days.
"We'll be investigating that very carefully and if further action is necessary the Civil Aviation Safety Authority will make sure it's done," said the authority's Peter Gibson.
Gibson told Radio Australia aviation officials are keeping a close watch on Qantas to make sure safety standards are maintained.
