JERUSALEM, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, under investigation for corruption, was questioned by police for the fourth time Friday.
Police spent three hours at Olmert's home for the interrogation, Haaretz reported. The session was extended for an hour at Olmert's request and reportedly covered allegations that the prime minister double-billed sponsors for trips that he took outside of the country.
Police are also looking into charges that Olmert received cash illegally from a U.S. businessman, Morris Talansky. Law enforcement officials say that the investigation should be completed within a few weeks.
Shlomi Ayalon, who heads the national fraud unit, has already told Olmert's lawyers that at least one more session of questioning is needed.
Olmert, who denies any wrongdoing, announced this week that he is stepping down as prime minister.
