INDEPENDENCE, Mo., Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Richard Davis, convicted in the slaying and sex torture of two women, faced a possible death penalty Friday as a Missouri jury began deliberations.
Jurors found Davis, 44, of Independence, Mo., guilty Thursday of first-degree murder and 24 other felonies, including rape, kidnapping, sodomy and assault in the 2006 videotaped attack on 41-year-old Marsha Spicer.
He earlier had been convicted of similar charges in the death of Michele Huff-Ricci, 36. His co-defendant, Dena Riley, is to be tried later.
Prosecutors charged that Davis, who showed no emotion at the verdict, videotaped his crimes to record his deepest fantasy, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported.
Police allegedly found six graphic video recordings in Davis' apartment and workplace that reportedly showed Davis and Riley repeatedly raping and sodomizing Spicer and Huff-Ricci while the victims were bound.
Spicer died from strangulation and suffocation, court testimony said.
