SAINT JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda, July 30 (UPI) -- The parents of a doctor critically injured in a shooting during his honeymoon in Antigua are readying a decision to remove him from life support, sources say.
Benjamin Mullany, 31, was seriously wounded while fighting off one or more attackers who had entered his hotel room early Sunday and killed his new wife, Catherine Mullany. Benjamin was clinging to life in an Antigua hospital with family members by his side, The Daily Mail reported Wednesday.
His parents, the newspaper said, would soon be confronted with a decision to remove the Welsh physiotherapist from life support machinery.
Police confirmed that Benjamin Mullany had fought back against the intruders, who later killed Catherine Mullany instantly with a bullet to the head.
The newspaper said two security guards at the resort have been questioned over the attack, but the pair are believed to have been released. Several other people on the island have reportedly been questioned.
