LOS ANGELES, July 29 (UPI) -- Los Angeles police said Tuesday a woman stabbed to death in a parking garage in Century City was from Ventura County and had an appointment in the building.
Pamela Fayed, 45, was killed Monday evening in the parking area of a high-rise building that houses prominent law firms and other types of professional firms.
Fayed died despite the efforts of witnesses, including two doctors, who tried to save her. The woman's screams reportedly echoed over a wide area as office workers headed to their vehicles for the commute home.
The Los Angeles Times said police would not say what kind of business Fayed had in Century City, an upscale area located in neighboring Los Angeles County wedged between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. They concluded she was not the victim of a random carjacking.
Detectives were looking Tuesday for a male suspect described as slender, in his 20s and possibly driving a red SUV.
