BAGHDAD, July 26 (UPI) -- The Iraqi Parliament says Iraqi politicians have two days to review a vetoed elections proposal and present a final report.
The Parliament said on its Web site that the Provinces and Regions Committee and the Legal Committee are to review the provincial elections bill, which would create electoral guidelines, and present a report on the legislation early next week, CNN reported Saturday.
The legislative review, which will also include other unspecified politicians, was made necessary after Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Shiite Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi rejected the proposal.
CNN said no information was available regarding what the final report requested by Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani is expected to include.
