OAKLAND, Calif., July 26 (UPI) -- A 31-year-old man was killed in Oakland, Calif., Saturday when his car was struck head-on by a driver going the wrong way on an interstate highway, police say.

The California Highway Patrol said a 23-year-old woman, whose identity had not been released, allegedly was driving the wrong way on Interstate 580 when her car collided with Ruel Balangue's vehicle, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The woman suffered moderate injuries in the crash and has since been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

A cousin of Balangue, who died at the crash site, said the resident of Stockton, Calif., was a reserved man.

"He's a good guy. Very quiet guy," said his cousin, who wished to remain anonymous.

The Chronicle said Balangue worked at FormFactor in Livermore, Calif., where a fatal stabbing occurred in a company parking lot July 13.
