New Age healer: Karadzic was great pupil

BELGRADE, Serbia, July 26 (UPI) -- A Belgrade New Age healer who tutored captured accused war criminal Radovan Karadzic in alternative medicine says the former Serb leader was his best pupil.

Mina Minic, a former Serbian army colonel and alternative medicine guru, said he taught Karadzic at his Belgrade home how to use metal tubes to diagnose the "bioenergy" flows of patients, The Times of London reported Saturday.

Karadzic faces 11 charges from the International Court of Justice in The Hague, including genocide, complicity in genocide, extermination and murder of Muslims, Croats and other non-Serb civilians. His attorneys planned to file a last-minute appeal against his deportation from Belgrade to The Hague.

The newspaper said Karadzic has refused jail food and is subsisting on a strict diet of spring water, almonds, hazelnuts and raisins.

Minic, 76, told the Times, "Radovan is now the highest-level practitioner of this type of healing. He was the best and most talented pupil I had in 40 years of doing this job."
