FORT COLLINS, Colo., July 26 (UPI) -- The body of a man thought to have died of a gunshot wound was found on the campus of Colorado State University, campus authorities say.

CSU spokeswoman Dell Rae Moellenberg said the body, which was found in a dormitory hall parking lot late Friday, did not appear to be that of a CSU student, The Denver Post reported Saturday.

"There are some leads on identifying the individual; we don't believe, based on that information, that he is a student," she said.

Police suspect the shooting death was likely an isolated incident and have not warned campus officials of any potential threat to the student population.

The man was found in Summit Hall's parking lot, but attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, the CSU office of public relations said.

The Post said CSU police suspect the man died of a gunshot wound, but no information was available regarding where or why he was shot.
