BAGHDAD, July 25 (UPI) -- Within weeks of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Baghdad visit, Turkish shelling aimed at Kurdistan Workers Party bases has resumed, officials say.

Turkish military officials said their aircraft targeted PKK bases in northern Iraq, al-Sumaria reported Friday.

The Turkish General Army Staff said its planes struck 13 targets and it was working to obtain a possible death toll. Turkish officials said anti-terrorism actions would persist depending on military needs.

An Iraqi security official said attacks went on for less than an hour in three villages of Dahuk in northern Iraq. Several officials said no deaths were reported.
