BIRMINGHAM, Ala., July 25 (UPI) -- A homeless man sleeping in a Birmingham, Ala., car wash was crushed to death Friday when the machine was turned on, officials said.
The Birmingham (Ala.) News reported that the incident occurred at a Chevron service station when a motorist pulled into the car wash.
When the driver got out to see what jammed the car wash, the man was discovered, said Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Pat Curry.
The man's body was entangled in the machinery, Curry said.
The victim has not been positively identified. Authorities say they believe he is from Indiana.
