Records indicate at least a dozen corrections officers at the Prince George's County correctional facility faced charges such as theft, assault, domestic violence and drunken driving, The Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) reported Friday.
Records show one officer was found guilty of second-degree assault for attacking a female and leaving her with a broken rib.
Another officer was cited for driving with a blood-alcohol limit three times the legal limit, official documents indicate.
The Post said the officers' crime troubles have led some to question the capability of officials running the jail.
The jail came under fire in past weeks after a 19-year-old prisoner was allegedly strangled to death, the newspaper said.
