SANAA, Yemen, July 25 (UPI) -- A powerful car bomb ripped through a police compound in the southeastern Yemen city of Sayoun early Friday, officials said.

At least two people were reported killed and 12 others were injured, KUNA said.

Yemeni security sources said the bomb destroyed a huge part of the main police center and a nearby building. Officials said the incident resembled an al-Qaida attack though no one had claimed responsibility.
