Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
NEW ORLEANS, July 22 (UPI) -- Republican presidential candidate John McCain will meet with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal during a Wednesday visit to New Orleans, sources say.
McCain staffers told WashingtonPost.com of the unexpected stop and visit with Jindal, who is considered a possible vice presidential candidate. Jindal said he knows nothing of the meeting and does not expect to be McCain's running mate though he supports the Arizona senator, The Times-Picayune reported Tuesday.
"I've got the job that I want," Jindal said. "I'm not going to be the vice president. I'm not going to be the nominee. But I'm going to do everything I can to help the senator get elected. I'm going to do that being governor of Louisiana. ... He's got several great choices to pick from."
