GANDER, Newfoundland, July 21 (UPI) -- A Delta Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Newfoundland, Canada, after a note found in a washroom claimed a bomb was on board.

Flight 22 took off Sunday night from Atlanta bound for Paris with 219 people aboard, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., reported from Gander.

After the note was found, the pilot of the Boeing 767 got permission to land at Gander and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were on hand when it touched down after 11 p.m., the report said.

Officers and a sniffer dog searched the cabin and cargo areas but no bomb was found. The RCMP cleared the flight to takeoff again, although the airline waited until Monday morning to resume the trip, the report said.

Police were examining the note, seeking who placed it in the washroom, the report said.
