HOLLYWOOD, Fla., July 20 (UPI) -- Florida officials say they are investigating how a corpse ended up in the ceiling of a sport's bar.

Fire officials in Hollywood, Fla., found the body after removing an air-conditioning vent Saturday at the All-Star Sports Bar, The Miami Herald reported.

Authorities became involved after workers at the bar said they smelled an offensive odor and noticed blood on the kitchen floor, the Herald said.

The discovery of the body came two days after employees contacted police about what they thought was an attempted burglary. Workers said became suspicious when they noticed some ceiling tiles had been broken.

Officials said they were uncertain how long the body was in the ceiling.
