Men face cruelty charges in bull dragging
Thursday, July 9
Marie-Eve Bastille, 22, initially faced a negligence charge after authorities discovered her infant daughter in a garbage container behind her Quebec City apartment, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday.
After an autopsy, police decided to charge Bastille with manslaughter and hiding a corpse, the report said.
Bastille could be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for a decade if found guilty.
Officials said she will be held behind bars until Sept. 22, when she is due in court.
